Flow in plain language
- Customer confirms amount on your checkout.
- Your server calls Daraja Lipa Na M-Pesa Online with paybill/till, amount, and reference.
- Customer enters M-Pesa PIN on their phone.
- Safaricom sends a callback to your server with result code and receipt number.
- Your system marks the order paid and notifies the customer.
Failure modes to plan for
User cancels, timeout, insufficient funds, or duplicate callbacks. Your application should show clear status, allow retry, and never ship goods on callback alone without idempotent payment records.
